Description

Santafiora was born from the entrepreneurial bet in 1960 by Mrs. Giulia Caporossi, who decided to gamble on the stone she saw surfacing along the road from Farnese to Manciano in Tuscany. Intrigued by the beige-brown rock outcrops, she had detailed core samples taken. It was thus discovered that beneath the surface lay one of Italy’s largest lithoid sandstone deposits, “Santafiora stone®,” which possessed unique hardness and beauty characteristics.

Following this unexpected and grand insight, facilities and workshops for processing this material were established. Over the years, Santafiora® has established itself throughout Italy as the most sought-after natural earth-colored stone for flooring and interior and exterior cladding, thanks to its excellent technical characteristics of hardness, resistance, and longevity, but especially due to its unparalleled aesthetic qualities.

Over time, Santafiora® has not only tied its name to the region from which it originates, Tuscany, but also to world-renowned architects and designers who have chosen to use it for the creation of magnificent works from simple private or public buildings to monuments, hotels, skyscrapers, squares, and even artistic works and design objects. These works will forever stand as a testament to humanity’s capacity to imagine, invent, and express itself and its history through the concept that drives everything: beauty.
