AAV BARBINI srl, detentore del brand Barbini Specchi Veneziani, è un laboratorio creativo e poliedrico, fondato a Murano nel 1927 da Nicolò Barbini, specializzato nell’arte dell’incisione su vetro e nella produzione e nel restauro di specchi veneziani antichi e moderni.
Si tratta dell’azienda muranese più antica ancora in attività, nella produzione di specchi, e raccoglie in sé l’eredità di tre note vetrerie: Artigianato Artistico veneziano, Guglielmo Barbini e Domus Vetri d’Arte, tutte realtà d’eccellenza e accomunate da una solida tradizione familiare. In questo senso, oggi, i Barbini intendono continuare l’attività di famiglia nel segno della tradizione, con un sapere unico tramandato di padre in figlio.

L’azienda vanta una gloriosa tradizione nel campo del vetro che risale al XVII secolo e oggi si avvale dell’opera di tre generazioni di esperti artigiani ai vertici del sapere tecnico, acquisito attraverso una grande passione, un’esperienza professionale di valore e una profonda conoscenza della materia e della sua storia. Tutte le fasi della lavorazione (il progetto, il taglio, la molatura, l’incisione, l’argentatura e il montaggio) sono eseguite esclusivamente a Murano e seguite personalmente dai fratelli Vincenzo e Giovanni Barbini e dai loro rispettivi figli, Nicola, Marco, Giovanna, Pietro, Andrea e Filippo, capaci di reinterpretare con continuità un inestimabile patrimonio di tecniche e segreti.

Dal 2013 Barbini Specchi Veneziani aderisce a numerose esposizioni collettive, partecipando a eventi di valore come “Homo Faber” (edizioni 2018 e 2022) e alla 47a edizione della GAS Conference. Al contempo l’azienda intrattiene collaborazioni con importanti studi di architettura, noti marchi di Alta Moda come Dolce&Gabbana, Gallerie d’Arte e con numerosi artisti e designer di fama internazionale, tra cui Philippe Starck, India Mahdavi, Roger Thomas, David Desmond, Joan Jonas – e con i più rinomati maestri del vetro muranesi. 

AAV BARBINI srl, owner of the Barbini Specchi Veneziani brand, is a creative and multi-functional lab that was founded on the island of Murano in 1927 by Nicolò Barbini. The company specialises in the art of engraving on glass and in the production and restoration of antique and modern Venetian mirrors.
It is the oldest mirror production company in business on Murano and is the amalgamation of three renowned glass factories: Artigianato Artistico veneziano, Guglielmo Barbini and Domus Vetri d’Arte. All of them are excellent and share a solid family tradition. Today the Barbinis aim to continue the family business in the wake of that tradition, using their unique knowledge handed down from father to son.

The company boasts a glorious family tradition in the field of glass dating back to the seventeenth century. It currently has three generations of expert artisans at the peak of their technical powers, which they have reached thanks to their immense passion, professional experience and a profound knowledge of the substance and its history. All the different production phases (the project, cutting, bevelling, engraving, silvering and assembly) are carried out exclusively on the island of Murano and are personally overseen by the brothers Vincenzo and Giovanni Barbini and by their respective children, Nicola, Marco and Giovanna, Pietro, Andrea and Filippo, who have been able to reinterpret this inestimable wealth of techniques and secrets in continuity with their forebears.

Since 2013 Barbini Specchi Veneziani has participated in numerous group shows and events, such as the prestigious “Homo Faber” (in Venice in 2018) and the 47th GAS Conference. The company has also been creating important collaborations with well-known High Fashion brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, internationally renowned artists and designers, including Philippe Starck, India Mahdavi, Roger Thomas, David Desmond, Joan Jonas and with the most renowned Murano glass masters.
